New dancers classes
You'll be dancing from the very first evening!
Our new dancers classes are an introduction to Scottish country dancing. You'll be taught by our RSCDS qualified teachers. The best time to start classes is in September or January.

We change partners for each dance. Come and get some exercise, dance to great music and have fun.

Scottish country dancing can be energetic when you keep to the rhythm of the music.
Do I need special shoes? No.
Bring comfortable enclosed shoes with a flat, soft non-slip sole. No sandals, no high heels, no hard heels.
Do I study for years before I can dance? No.
You'll be dancing from the first night. We look forward to seeing you at our dance classes.
Must I learn dances by heart? No.
At our social dancing all dances are recapped and walked through before the music starts.
How many dances are there? Lots.
You don't need to learn them by heart as each dance is made up of a few formations you'll learn at our club.
Do I have to wear a kilt? No.
Many men dance in trousers. Everyone need only to wear clothes that are easy to move in.
